Meet the Director
Erica Serrano is a multicultural and multilingual professional with over 25 years of experience in Early Education who is passionate about children and the early care and education community.
She has a B.A. in Education and a Certificate in Early Education Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and has served in several advisory boards and committees; including the Montgomery County Commission in Childcare and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Child Welfare Committee.
Erica is Maryland State Department of Education approved trainer and co-developed ESCALERAS, a training model for aspiring family child care providers that in 2017 was awarded the first place in the Harvard Graduate School of Education/Saentz Early Education Initiative Innovation Challenge.
As an active advocate for early childhood, Erica was part of the Promising Ventures Fellowship Accelerator Program - a partnership between Promising Venture Studios, Harvard Center on the Developing Child and Sesame Street Workshops- in 2020, the Promising Ventures Fellowship Accelerator Program for Social Justice in 2021 and is a member of the Early Childhood Leaders of Color Collaborative.
